Funniest book you have read!

Adolf Hitler, my part in his downfall - Spike Milligan.
Hands down, the funniest one I have read.
"I got off at Bexhill-on-Sea. It wasn't easy - the train didn't stop there"

I know.
Of course I was being a bit hopeful and presumptive in starting a thread on here related to "reading".
I will accept Audiobooks for the hard of thinking.

(he was complaining about something) "I left with my head held high. And my feet held higher - I was carried out"
He was a comedy genius that guy

Not sure I've ever read a particularly funny one. Probably as I generally only read on the train and would look a right pillock cracking up on my own.
Do have Karl Pilkington's book at home, so will read that soon.

I did that when I was reading Spike and sprayed ribena out of my nose on to the rather attractive young lady sitting opposite me. She was less than impressed.

Getting Rid Of Mister Kitchen by Charlie Higson.
Read it years ago but remember laughing at lots of it, very dark humour.
'A man kills a prospective buyer for his car. On the verge of becoming a name in the interior design world, he can't afford a scandal and must discreetly dispose of the body-- not an easy job when the whole of London seems to be conspiring against him.'

The Choirboys (Joseph Wambaugh) had some seriously funny parts although it also had a very sad end.
Same goes for one flew over the cuckoos nest.

The Partridge books are hilarious (the audiobooks even funnier).
There are a couple of books called The Timewaster Letters, which had me laughing out loud on public transport regularly. Basically a guy writing random letters off to people such as the Archbishop of Canterbury, John Lewis and the Lib Dems proposing stupid ideas and getting them to reply. Then replying back and getting them to reply again. And so on.

Danny Baker's autobiographies are very good. Am seeing his stage show in Swindon tonight.
Oh, and agree on The Timewaster Letters.
